Drivetime’s first CD, this eclectic work was inspired by more of a Trip Hop / Euro Acid Jazz influence. The Last Fusion Band
Road to Drivetime
Stiff Stuff came off the heels of Eulipian & Havana Fusion, this time Bernie wanted to get down to some serious fusion and created one of the hottest live bands in the Philly area. Collecting all new players, Ralph Liberto on Sax, Rod Brennan on Keys, Rob Paoletti on Guitar, Angel Resto on Bass and Dave Mohn on Drums, Ralph would latter be replaced by Kenny Cervanka on Trumpet from (The Buddy Rich Band). This spirited performance give’s the listener a true insight of the power and versatility of this unit, mixing Miles, Grover & Originals into a cohesive and sometimes going outside the box and improvising sections and solos. But this group of players had the chops to pull it off.
The Eulipian Project
"The Eulipian Project"
Road to Drivetime
The Eulipian Project was founded in 1977 by Gene Terramani, Chris Friedrich and Bernie Capodici. The project encompassed what would become Jazz Fusion in the 80’s to say this group was way ahead of the curve is an understatement. An all original quartet featuring Gene Terramani on Guitar, Chris Friedrich on Bass, Bernie Capodici on Congas and Percussion, Steve Oliver on Sax and Rich Wierback on Drums, The Eulipian Project wrote the book on what Rock, Jazz, Fusion was to become. The unit went on to perform many concerts and radio concerts from WRTI with Samir Ali Suduk and their version of Creator Has A Master Plan that became Samir’s theme song for his radio show Journey To Mecca. The band disbanded in 1979 but became the stepping-stone and launched the next endeavor.
